Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday received the final report of the fact-finding committee assigned to investigate violent events in Egypt since the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in June 2013, Egypt's presidency announced.
The committee gave the report to El-Sisi at the presidential headquarters, said a spokesman for Egypt's presidency, Alaa Youssef.
The president sent the document to the cabinet for discussion, after which it will be sent to judicial authorities to take the necessary actions concerning its findings, said the spokesman.
The fact-finding committee was formed in December 2013 by interim president Adly Mansour and is headed by Fouad Abdel-Moneim Riad, a high-profile judge who was a member of a UN international commission on war crimes in former Yugoslavia.
The fact-finding committee will hold a press conference on Wednesday to announce its findings.
Egypt was swept up in nationwide violence after Morsi's ouster, especially after the bloody dispersal of two pro-Morsi sit-ins in Cairo that left hundreds dead in August 2013.
