Zamalek have officially landed Egypt midfielder Ahmed Hamoudi for one year on loan from Swiss side Basel, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday.
"Hamoudi joined Zamalek on loan for one season after we reached an agreement with Basel," Zamalek's board member Ahmed Mortada was quoted as saying by the Egyptian champions' official website.
"We agreed to pay Basel 175,000 Euros with an option to make the deal permanent for another 700,000 Euros by the end of the new season," he added.
Hamoudi is the latest summer signing for Zamalek, who have already secured the services of eight other new players for the coming season.
Hamoudi had joined Swiss champions Basel on a four-year deal last summer from Smouha, having made 14 league appearances last season in addition to another four in the UEFA Champions League. The 25-year-old scored twice on all fronts.
Zamalek ended an 11-year league drought after clinching their 12th domestic title a week ago, beating off competition from arch-rivals and title holders Ahly who were eyeing their ninth successive title and 38th overall.
