Ahly will be looking to make it four wins on the trot when they host Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium on Sunday.
Following their thumping 7-3 win over a modest Ittihad El-Shorta side, title challengers Ahly will be seeking another victory over another bottom-half team in Contractors.
Since a 2-0 win over Petrojet in December last year, Contractors have failed to register a single win in five games to slump to 15th spot of the Egyptian league table.
And their mission cannot get more difficult against a third-placed Ahly side, who are eager to make up for last year’s disappointing season where they failed to win a single trophy.
Ahly will miss veteran striker Emad Meteb, who scored a trademark injury-time winner against El-Entag El-Harby early in January, due to university exams - with defender Saad Samir also omitted for the same reason.
Meanwhile, holding midfielder Hossam Ashour has been declared fit to play after been rated doubtful due to flu.
Winger Walid Soliman could also miss out due to an inflamed ankle.
Last season’s runners-up Ahly are third on 22 points, one off leaders Maqassa.
