Berlinale Talents, that closed Thursday, brought three hundred talents from all over the world to participate in the 14th edition of the event, part of the ongoing 66th Berlinale International Film Festival.

The event closed with the master class of Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney.

During the closing ceremony, the talents participating in the segment were strongly praised by the organisers.

"The level of experience was outstanding. Talents, alumni and experts met at eye-level. We are delighted that Berlinale Talents, as a leading talent development programme for exchanging ideas and developing film projects, was received so enthusiastically," said the heads of Berlinale Talents Christine Tröstrum and Florian Weghorn, in the official press release.

"Kickstarter and Berlinale Talents joined forces in a network partnership to promote Talents and alumni around the world and help them to bring projects to life. Film professionals with interest in crowd funding receive exclusive mentorship by the Kickstarter team. Their campaigns are highlighted on a curated partner page and shared in the social media channels of Berlinale Talents and Kickstarter," the press release continued.

Three awards were announced this year for a joint Arab-German film project.

The Film Prize for the documentary film project went to the Lebanese-German documentary Miguel's War by director Eliane Raheb and co-producers Lissi Muschol and Margot Haiböck.

The Film Prize for the short fiction project was awarded to Tshweesh (Lebanon-Germany) by director Feyrouz Serhal and producer Stefan Gieren.

The Film Prize for the animation film project went to Four Acts for Syria (Syria-Germany) by directors Waref Abu Quba and Kevrok Mourad, and producer Eva Illmer.

The Berlin International Film Festival closes on 22 February.
