Famous American singer and songwriter Michael Bolton is scheduled to hold a concert in Cairo 21 October.
Bolton announced the concert on his official Facebook page and website, stating the concert venue will be City Gate in New Cairo.
This will be Bolton’s first ever performance in Cairo.
The concert is organised by RMC Worldwide Partners in Egypt. The exact venue has yet to be announced.
Born 26 Febraury 1953, Bolton has become an international pop heartthrob with a successful repertoire comprising over 17 albums, including Everyday of My Life (1976), Everybody’s Crazy (1985), Timeless: The Classics (1992), Bolton Swings Sinatra (2006), One World One Love (2009), and Gems: The Duets Collection (2011).
Bolton is an award-winning musician, having garnered two Grammys for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance, for which he was nominated a total of four times, as well as six American Music Awards and over 24 BMI and ASCAP awards.
Bolton also joined Luciano Pavarotti on stage “in a highly praised rendition of 'Vesti La Giubba' and pays homage to the Italian tenor when performing the aria 'Nessun Dorma' at each of his concerts while on tour,” reads the biography section of his website.
He has also performed alongside Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Renee Fleming and BB King.
As a songwriter, Bolton has collaborated with an array of important musicians, including 
Lady Gaga, Diane Warren, Desmond Child, David Foster, Walter Afanasieff, Phil Ramone, Ne Yo, and Billy Mann. Bolton also co-wrote Steel Bars with the iconic Bob Dylan.
Bolton is a committed social activist having founded the Michael Bolton Charities foundation which works on “advocating on behalf of women and children at risk.”
He has garnered an array of humanitarian awards, including the Martin Luther King Award given by the Congress of Racial Equality (C.O.R.E.), the Lewis Hine Award from The National Child Labour Committee, the Ellis Island Medal of Honour from the National Ethnic Coalition of Organisations, and the Frances Preston Lifetime Achievement Award.
