Part of its August American film night programme, Darb 1718 will screen the film Short Term 12.

Written and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film was produced in 2013 and has won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Editing, Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Actress.

The film stars Brie Larson, who has won multiple best actress awards, including an Academy Award, BAFTA award and a Golden Globe for her role in the film Room (2016).

The story follows Grace, the young supervisor of a group home for troubled teenagers named Short Term 12, who connects with a new resident as she struggles with her own issues.
