Creativity Centre will screen the Wintry Spring (Rabie Chetwey), a 16-minute Egyptian film directed by Mohamed Kamel, starring Ahmed Kamal and Eman Moustafa.

Kamal will be present for a talk after the screening, moderated by film critic Yaqout El-Dib.

The film was screened in Egypt at the Luxor Film Fetsival, and has since been selected to screen at many international film festivals, winning several major awards including the best short and best actor award for Kamal at the Italian festival Fotogramma d'Oro in May.

It then screened at the ShorTS International Film Festival in Italy, and Long Island International Film Expo in the USA in July.

The film depicts a relationship between a father and his teenage daughter Nour during her years of puberty, which develops a rift.

Born in 1981, Kamel is an Egyptian film director and screenwriter as well as a graduate from the High Institute of Cinema at the Academy of Arts, Cairo. He has numerous short films -- fiction and documentaries -- to his name, many of which were screened in numerous international festivals.

Star Kamal was born in 1959, and is well-known for his work in Egyptian theatre, cinema and television series. He has worked with many renowned directors. Kamal also gives acting workshops.
