Egypt's Sisi orders 100 military training scholarships for African countries in 2019

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has issued directives on providing 100 new military training scholarships to African countries in 2019, he said during a meeting on Thursday morning with Guinean Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and National Defence Mohamed Diane.

He also said that Egypt is committed to supporting cooperatives relations with the Republic of Guinea in various fields, voicing Cairo’s keenness that security and stability be maintained in Conakry.

Diane conveyed the greetings of Guinea’s President Alpha Condé to El-Sisi, highlighting friendly relations binding both countries, El-Sisi’s spokesman Bassam Rady said. 

Diane praised Egypt’s success in achieving security and stability and pushing forward its economic development process, Rady added.

El-Sisi hailed the unique historical ties binding both countries, stressing Egypt’s keenness on consolidating bilateral relations in various fields, Rady noted.

The president asked Diane to deliver his greetings to his Guinean counterpart, affirming his keenness that coordination and consultations between both sides be maintained, Rady stated.

Both sides discussed a number of bilateral files, according to Rady.

Diane gave El-Sisi a message from his Guinean counterpart on means of boosting cooperation, after a protocol of cooperation was signed between both countries on military support.

The meeting touched on several issues connected with the African continent and means of promoting joint African action.

El-Sisi asserted that Egypt’s support to the African countries is a top priority of Egypt's foreign policy with the aim of achieving the common interest of African countries.
