A euphoric Zamalek side will be eying a win against El-Entag El-Harby on Thursday, as the White Knights can afford no error if they wish to keep their hopes alive in the Egyptian league title race.
Zamalek won their first continental title since 2003 on Sunday when they lifted the Confederation Cup trophy at the expense of Moroccan side RS Berkane.
The continental win gave Zamalek a huge morale boost in their league campaign as the Cairo giants are looking for their first domestic league title since 2015.
They are now third on the league table with 66 points, eight points behind leaders Ahly, who played three matches more.
"We asked the players to forget the continental success and to focus on the league," Zamalek assistant coach Amir Azmi told reporters on Wednesday.
"Our target is to win the league title and the Egyptian Cup so there is no room for error in the coming period."
Zamalek will play on Thursday without midfielder Tarek Hamed and striker Omar El-Saed due to automatic suspension.
On the other hand, El-Entag will also be looking for a positive result in order to improve their position on the league table.
They need only one point from their two remaining matches to secure their place in the first division next season.
"The game will be tough. Zamalek is a good team but we are ready for the game and we are eying a positive result given our critical situation on the league table," El-Entag coach Mokhtar Mokhtar concluded.
