Ahly are set to make a new offer for Huddersfield Town to keep winger Ramadan Sobhi at the club after their initial approach was rebuffed, his agent Nader Shawki said on Tuesday.
Sobhi joined Ahly from Huddersfield last January on a six-month loan deal that will expire on 30 June.
According to Shawki, Ahly had tabled a £2.5 million to acquire the player's services on a permanent basis or £750,000 to extend the loan for another year. However, Huddersfield, who will play in the Championship (English second division) next season, turned down both offers.
Huddersfield set a £8.5 million price tag on the player and asked for £4 million to accept a season-long loan deal.
Sobhi joined Huddersfield last summer from Stoke City before returning to his boyhood club last January due to his lack of playing time with Huddersfield.
The 22-year-old made 24 appearances with Ahly in all competitions, scoring twice and providing three assists.
