A delegation of Libyan MPs has arrived in Cairo to participate in the meeting organized by the Egyptian national committee entrusted with helping Libyans reach a political solution.

The committee's meeting comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to unify the visions of the Libyan parliamentarians, in particular, and help Libyans reach a political solution to crisis in their country, in general.

The committee will organize a one week of national dialogue between Libyan MPs and politicians on internal conditions and the war against terrorism.

Saad El-Gamal, head of Egypt parliament's Arab Affairs Committee and deputy speaker of the Arab Parliament, told reporters Saturday that Egypt recognizes the Libyan House of Representatives as the legitimate representative of the Libyan people.

"The Egyptian people and leadership gives supreme importance of the Libyan crisis and hopes that the efforts of the Libyan parliament and the national dialogue here in Cairo will lead to unifying the country and restoring stability," said El-Gamal, indicating that the parliamentary delegation includes deputies from all parts of Libya – the east, the west, the north and south.

El-Gammal said Libya is currently facing a number of foreign conspiracies.

"Some regional powers insist on interfering with Libyan internal affairs and fomenting instability there by helping terrorist movements move from Syria to Libya," said El-Gammal, adding that "but Egypt will do its best to support Libya to stand up to these conspiracies."

"I hope next time when all of Libya becomes unified that Egyptian MPs will be able to go there and congratulate all of Libya," said El-Gammal.

Abdel-Motaleb Thabet, a Libyan MP, said Egypt and Libya are historically and geographically closely related to each other.

"Libya represents a national security dimension to Egypt, and both countries should work together to help Libya fight terrorist organizations and regain stability," said Thabet.
