Speaker of the Togolese National Assembly Yawa Tsegan asserted that Togo is eager to enhance venture relations with Egypt as well as increase trade between the two countries during Egypt's leadership of the African Union (AU).
During a meeting on Sunday with Egypt’s Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, Tsegan praised Egypt for having eight female ministers as well as the significant economic success Egypt has achieved under the leadership of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
Tsegan also commended the successful Egyptian investments in Togo in education and agriculture, describing Egypt’s success in improving the venture environment as inspiring.
Minister Sahar said that Egypt is keen to use its leadership of the AU to boost the investment environment in all African countries.
Nasr also asserted that Egypt is eager to maintain bilateral economic and investment relations and to achieve economic integration and coordinate with international corporations to support establishing a number of infrastructure projects in Africa.
She also called on Togo to participate in the Africa 2019 conference, which will be held on 22 November in the New Administrative Capital under the sponsorship of President El-Sisi.
Two-thousand presidents, prime ministers, businesspersons, investors, representatives of ministries and economic corporations are expected to attend the conference, which is organised by the investment, trade, and foreign affairs ministers with the aim of boosting investment in Africa.
