Egyptian actor Haitham Ahmed Zaki dies at 35

The Egyptian actor, Haitham Ahmed Zaki died at his home on the outskirts of Cairo

Reportedly, Haitham Ahmed Zaki died suddenly in his apartment in Sheikh Zayed, on the outskirts of Cairo. The preliminary cause of death announced related his blood circulatory system.

Al-Ahram Arabic revealed that the body of Zaki was moved to Zeinhom morgue while the office of the Giza public prosecution requested security services determine the circumstances around the actor's death.

The prosecution has already interrogated a number of people close to Zaki, including his fiance.

The 35-year-old actor was the son of late renowned actor Ahmed Zaki and late actress Hala Fouad.

Haitham Ahmed Zaki came to the limelight with a leading role in the historical drama Halim (2006), directed by Sherif Arafa and depicting life of famed singer Abdel Halim Hafez.

The choice of Haitham came after death of his father who originally played Halim.

Other significant roles include the films Dawaran Shobra (2011), Al-Qamar (2011), Sukkar Mor (2015), The Treasure (2017), The Treasure 2 (2019) and Kalabsh 2 (2018), as well as the TV series Al-Saba Wassaya (2014) and Al-Gamaah (2010).

He won the Best Egyptian Actor Award for his role in Dawaran Shobra (2011).
