US Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker will visit Egypt from Tuesday to Friday, the US State Department has said.
Schenker will meet with senior Egyptian officials to discuss US-Egyptian bilateral relations as well as to exchange views on regional issues.
He will also meet with Arab League officials in Cairo and visit the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) located in Sinai, according to a short statement from the State Department.
The MFO monitors compliance with the Egyptian-Israeli peace deal.
Some 700 US troops are part of that mission.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Egypt in January.
His last meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry was earlier this month in Washington.
