Egypt's Sisi and Trump discuss developments in Libya in phone call

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed with US President Donald Trump the developments in Libya in a telephone call on Thursday, the Egyptian presidency announced.

El-Sisi asserted to the American president Egypt's support for empowering the Libyan people in achieving security and stability, as well as stressed the importance of the role of the Libyan National Army in fighting terrorism that threatens the whole Middle East region.

The Egyptian president also stressed the importance of limiting illegal foreign interventions in Libyan affairs.

The two presidents also discussed the developments in the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam talks, where El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the United States in supporting the talks between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.

President Trump expressed his wish to see talks be successful and yield positive and fair results for all parties.

The two presidents also discussed US-Egyptian bilateral ties and ways to boots these relations.
