Ahram Online, Thursday 8 Mar 2012

On Saturday, 10 March, Egyptian designer Deana Shaaban will reveal her latest collection – just as the summer heat is upon us!

SS 2012 collection to be launched Saturday

Deana Shaaban grew up travelling, and it shows in her designs: New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia. She dubs her latest collection "Africa Meets Little House on the Prairie," in reference to the popular American Western 80's TV programme about a family living in the broad expanse of the US during the late 19th century.

The designer warmly invites fashion-lovers to her collection launch on Saturday, 10 March, and to sway to African beats.

"We're not living alone in this world," Shaaban asserts to Ahram Online. Although she says she's proud to be Egyptian and relies on her Egyptian style, she says that her designs reveal a "fusion from all the different places I've travelled."

Shaaban’s clients often travel abroad, so her designs must reflect that as well, she says happily.

Programme:

Pop venue called "18.213"
