The chief of staff of the Egyptian armed forces Lt. General Mohamed Farid attended the main phase of the Bashir-21 drills, the Egyptian armed forces said on Friday.
The drills, which will run for several days, are being conducted by units of the Second Field Army within the framework of the annual combat training plan of the armed forces.
The drill started with battle preparation and organisation procedures that included the display of reports and decisions, then followed with the engagement of all participating elements in the battle.
This stage showed the high level reached by the participating elements and their field skills and high combat preparedness and the use of latest control systems.
Farid also conveyed the greetings of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki to the Second Field Army personnel.
