Workers protests and street closure on Tuesday prevents MPs from enetering parliament for a while

Members of parliament, ministers and journalists were temporarily prevented from entering the parliament building on Tuesday.

Security officers had blocked all streets heading to Parliament Street due to demonstrations by dozens of workers that who were attempting to present demands to the parliament.

Employees of the workers' syndicate for printing and publishing are demonstrated in front of the main gate of the Shura Council in Kasr Al-Ainy Street, whereas Petrojet company workers demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Health across the same street.

Mohammed Beltagy, a leading MP from the Freedom and Justice Party, told parliamentarians after the melee ended it was unacceptable for MPs to be prevented from entering the parliament, and that MPs must be treated in a dignified manner by the public.
