Netflix will celebrate the upcoming Eid El-Fitr by releasing nine of the best-known Arabic theatre plays in its section ‘Arabic Nostalgia.’

The prerecorded plays are in Arabic language with English translation available for the Netflix users.

The list of the plays includes many tiles from the Egyptian theatrical repertoire, many featuring Adel Emam in the protagonist's role, including the 1973 comedy Madrast Al-Mushaghebeen (The School of Mischievous) written by Ali Salem and directed by Galal Al-Sharkawy costarring Saeed Saleh, Younis Shalabi, Ahmad Zaki; Shahed Ma Shafsh Haga (The Witness Who Saw Nothing, 1976) with Emam, Omar Hariri and Nahed Jabr in the leading roles; and El-Wad Sayed El-Shaghal (1985) also with Emam in the main role.

There will also be plays featuring other well-known actors such as El-Ayal Kebret (The Kids Have Grown Up), a 1979 play directed by Samir Al-Asfory; Rayya and Sekina (1982) starring Shadya and Soheir El-Bably; and Bye Bye London (1981), among many others.

The plays will be available starting Thursday 21 May to over 183 million Netflix viewers in 190 countries.
