Egypt detected 981 new coronavirus cases on Friday, surpassing the 80,000 infections mark to report 80,235, the health ministry announced.
The ministry also reported 85 new deaths, bringing the total deaths from the virus to 3,702
The statement said that 521 patient have been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 23,274 so far.
