In her post that she uploaded on Thursday, the actress shows a photo of herself in the television series which is being prepared for the upcoming month of Ramadan.

Directed by Mohamed El-Adl, the series is based on Nobel Prize winner Naguib Mahfouz's story Bayn El Sama we El Ard (Between Heaven and Earth), which was developed specifically for cinema.

El-Adl's TV series has script written by Eslam Hafez.

Starring Sawsan Badr, the cast also includes Hany Salama, Youssra El-Lozy, Ghada Adel,  Nourhan, Mahmoud Ellisy,  Ahmad El-Salakawi, among others.

Between Heaven and Earth was first released as a film in 1959, and directed by Salah Abu Seif who also co-authored the script.

The Egyptian classic starred Hind Rostom, Omar Afifi, Mokhtar El-Sayed, Abdulsalam El-Nabulsi, and Sayed Abu Bakr.

With the action taking place in an elevator, suspended after a malfunction, the film showcases a number of unique characters.

"The characters – among them a movie star, a thief, a madman, a cook and a pregnant woman – are archetypes that represent the different strata and classes of Egyptian society in the 1950s – classes that are still very much in place in Egypt today. This fact alone points to the timelessness and of a film that was first shown more than 50 years ago. Between Heaven and Earth remains a remarkable triumph of modern cinema," wrote Ali Abu Shadi in the film's brief during its screening at Sanad Film Fund, 2011.
