Tel Aviv registers its 'appreciation for Egypt's democratic process,' says it 'looks forward to continuing cooperation with Egypt govt on basis of Camp David peace treaty'

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Ofir Gendelman declared on Twitter on Sunday following the announcement of Egypt's final presidential election results that "Israel appreciates the democratic process in Egypt and respects the results of the presidential elections."

He added: "Israel looks forward to continuing cooperation with the Egyptian government on the basis of the [Camp David] peace treaty between the two countries, which is in the joint interest of both peoples and contributes to regional stability."
