Member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), lawyer Hassan Salah, has been referred to criminal court Saturday accused of insulting the High Constitutional Court (HCC).
The General Prosecution added Salah to the case already ongoing in which two other Brotherhood lawyers are facing the same accusation.
The three face accusation based on claims they made that the HCC had sent the details of its verdict on the constitutionality of the parliament's lower house, the People's Assembly, to be published in the Official Gazette before it had announced its verdict.
The HCC ruled unconstitutional the electoral law used in November 2011's legislative poll, leading to the dissolution of the People's Assembly in June 2012.
The HCC is due to rule on the constitutionality of the upper house of parliament, the Shura Council, 2 June.
