5 robbers sentenced to death for killing Egyptian priest

In a robbery case, Upper Egypt court orders execution of five for killing Coptic priest, sentences one to ten years prison

Assiut Criminal Court has sentenced five to death and another to 10 years prison for killing a priest and stealing his money and golden jewelry.

The five were accused of intentionally killing the priest in his home using a knives while another is accused of aiding the killers, allowing them to enter the priest’s home where she worked as a maid.

Omar Abdallah, Ali Yousef, Khaled Ali, Badawi Farghali, Ihsan Asham and Yassa Abdel-Messih have been sentenced to death.

El-Husseiny Abdallah has been sentenced to death in absentia and Mahmoud Abdallah has been sentenced to ten years in prison in absentia.
