Egypt's Zamalek said on Tuesday Spanish side Malaga did not pursue their interest in signing promising attacking midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim.
Ibrahim said last month that Malaga were keen on signing him on loan but the deal eventually fell through. Local media said Zamalek's "hefty demands" prompted Malaga to cancel negotiations but the Cairo side said this was not the case.
Zamalek posted on their website a letter they said had been sent to a mediator in talks with Malaga over Ibrahim's transfer. The letter, which was written in English, listed the club's demands to offload the 21-year-old.
"Zamalek Sporting Club can discuss the possibilities of loaning Mohamed Ibrahim for one year," the club said in the letter.
"The loan for 1 year will be worth 400,000 euros … to be paid by Malaga Football Club to Zamalek Sporting Club upon finalizing the loan agreement."
Zamalek went on to list several other demands, including bonuses to be paid to the Cairo club if Ibrahim scores seven goals or more in the Spanish La Liga and if Malaga qualify for the Champions League or Europa League.
The White Knights insisted they were ready to loan out Ibrahim but that Malaga "did not respond to our demands".
Egyptian international Ibrahim is one of the Egyptian football's hottest prospects.
