A bomb attack injured two policemen and a civilian in Dokki on Tuesday morning, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The bomb exploded at 7:15am near a security checkpoint in Galaa Square in the Dokki district of Giza.
The injured were transferred to a nearby police hospital and explosives experts are reportedly searching the area for further devices.
A suspect was arrested after a driver followed him, a security source said.
There have been numerous attacks, mainly against police and army targets, since the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July.
