Petrojet manager Ramadan El-Sayed has announced that striker Marwan Mohsen will not be transferred to Ahly or Zamalek this summer.
“He will move to Europe and board is studying offers from a number of big clubs,” El-Sayed told the Middle East News Agency.
The 23-year-old forward, who joined Petrojet in 2010, has two Egypt caps, against Niger and Sierra Leone in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, in which he scored three goals.
“Marwan Mohsen is one of the best forwards in Egypt and his place is in the big European leagues,” El-Sayed added.
El-Sayed denied Petrojet had received offers from the two Cairo-based clubs for the player who is expected to star for Egypt at the 2012 London Olympics.
In another matter, Petrojet has approved the move of their talented defender Sherif Hazem to Alexandria’s Smouha after negotiations with Zamalek collapsed.
All football competitions in Egypt have been suspended since 1 February when more than 70 fans died and hundreds were injured in clashes at a match in Port Said.
