AS Roma star winger Mohamed Salah and Stoke City's Ramadan Sobhi have linked up with their Egypt teammates in Cairo ahead of the Pharaohs' Africa Cup of Nations campaign later this month.

The duo have taken part in Tuesday's training session, with Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and Hull City right wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady set to join a day later to complete the list of recalled foreign-based players.

Manager Hector Cuper will announce Egypt's 23-man squad on Wednesday, as four players will be omitted from the provisional squad.

Record-seven-time champions Egypt open their Nations Cup Group D campaign against Mali on 17 January, four days before taking on Uganda in the tournament hosted by Gabon.
