Cameroon's defender wants to avenge 2008 final defeat by Egypt

Cameroon defender Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui says he and his teammates are determined to secure a positive result when they face Egypt in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday after losing to the Pharaohs in 2008.

"Egypt are a big team, they have won seven titles and showed a very good performance so far. But we are determined to win to avenge our defeat in the 2008 final," Ngadjui said after the game.

The Indomitable Lions have defeated Ghana 2-0 on Wednesday to reach their first final since 2008.

Nine years ago, a team led by Samuel Eto'o, Alex Song and Rigobert Song lost to Egypt courtesy to a strike from Mohamed Abou-Treika in the 77th minute.

The four-time African champion – who have ousted top favorites Senegal and Ghana in their way to the final - are looking to win their first title since 2002.

"A lot of people didn't believe in us. We didn't think that we can go so far in the competition but now we want to win the title," Ngadeu-Ngadjui concluded.
