Morocco's French coach Herve Renard has insisted that he will remain in his position with the Atlas Lions; quashing recent rumors that he might leave to take charge of another African team.
After Morocco's early exit from the recent World Cup finals in Russia, the 49-year Renard declined to talk about his future with the Moroccan team amid interest in his services from both Algeria and Egypt was reported.
"Some people talk about my future in the media to sow trouble among the spirits of the Moroccan team, and if it's still a little too early to know what will be done, one thing is certain regardless: out of respect for Morocco and all Moroccans there is no way I will leave Morocco for another African nation," reads a statement by Renard on his official Twitter account on Tuesday.
"Those who claim so are wrong," the former Zambia, Angola and Ivory Coast coach added.
Morocco finished bottom of Group B with one point at the World Cup group stage, but were unlucky to miss a memorable end to their campaign, after substitute Spain's Iago Aspas scored in stoppage time to earn the 2010 world champions a 2-2 draw.
Morocco lost 1-0 to Iran and Portugal in their two opening matches respectively before facing Spain.
Seven-time African champions Egypt are currently searching for a replacement for Argentinean boss Hector Cuper who lost any hope of renewing his contract after the team's humbling performance at the World Cup.
The Pharaohs, who made their first World Cup appearance since 1990, had their hopes shattered in Russia as they lost all three games.
