Algeria midfielder Sofiane Feghouli said on Sunday that all the players are ready for the June-July African Nations Cup, added they are determined to make Algerians "proud of their national team."

The Desert Foxes struggled in the 2017 edition in Gabon, where they were eliminated from the group stage, but the Galatasaray midfielder insisted things would be different this time around.

"We will do our best to make all the Algerians proud in the Nations Cup," Feghouli told Algerian newspaper Al-Chourouq.

"Many things happened in 2017 but that is a past now. We are focusing on this Nations Cup and we are determined to make all Algerians happy."

The 29-year-old said that Algeria's preparations in Qatar are important to help the players cope with the intense summer heat in Egypt.

Algeria will play two friendly games against Burundi and Mali as part of their training camp.

"I'm sure that the team will be ready and will appear in a good shape at the tournament," he added.

Algeria, who won the Nations Cup in 1990, were drawn in Group C along with Senegal, Tanzania and Kenya.
