Egypt's national football team will continue their preparations for their second game in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against the Democratic Republic of Congo, which will take place at Cairo Stadium on Wednesday.

Under the helm of Mexican coach Javier Aguirre, the Pharaohs started their training session early Monday with the team's stars. The technical staff is working to fix mistakes made during Friday's opener against Zimbabwe.

The Pharaohs opened their 2019 AFCON campaign by beating Zimbabwe 1-0 when winger Mahmoud Trezeguet netted in the first half to give an otherwise disappointing victory to the hosts.

Egypt, the seven time African champions, are second in Group A of the 2019 AFCON and will face DR Congo on Wednesday before meeting the Group A leader, Uganda, at the last Group A match on 30 June.

"The technical staff decided to open the training session for media representatives for 15 minutes," read a statement by the EFA on Monday.

"Coach Javier Aguirre will hold a press conference on Tuesday morning to speak about the game against DR Congo," the statement added.
