Algeria playmaker Sofiane Feghouli has been cleared fit for Sunday's anticipated African Cup of Nations (AFCON) test against Nigeria after recovering from an ankle injury.

Algeria, who defeated Ivory Coast on penalties in the quarter finals, will be facing the Super Eagles at Cairo Stadium in the continental tournament semi final.

The 29-year-old Galatasaray player Feghouli was doubtful for Sunday's match after bruising his ankle against Ivory Coast, but he is now fit for the match according to the official site of AFCON's organising committee.

"Feghouli participated in Algeria's training session on Saturday normally to clear himself fit for Nigeria match," reads a statement on www.egypt2019.eg.

The Desert Foxes, Algeria, booked a place among the last four of the prestigious tournament for the first time since 2010.

Algeria twice beat Nigeria at the 1990 tournament (5-1 in the group stage and 1-0 in the final); the only occasion that they won the title.
