“We will jump to exit the circle of need,” presidential candidate Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said in response to questions on Egypt’s economy.

The interview, co-hosted by Lamis El-Hadidy and Ibrahim Eissa, is currently airing on Egyptian TV satellite channels ONTV and CBC.

The presidential candidate said Egyptians would see living conditions improve within two years.

El-Sisi also said that Egypt urgently needs 20,000 schools to improve the country's education system. Another 200,000 teachers are needed, he said.

The two-part TV interview is the first ever for the resigned military chief.
