An old building partially collapsed in eastern Alexandria leaving a three-year old child killed and a worker injured on Friday.
The child was reportedly killed while passing by under the building when particles from the building's roof fell on him.
Both the injured worker and the slain child's father accused the owner of "carelessness" according to Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
It’s not uncommon for buildings to fall down in the coastal city, due to several factors, including age, illegal expansions and corruption.
In January of last year, some 24 died and 11 others were injured after a building collapsed in Al-Maamoura district.
A similar collapse in July 2012 killed at least nine people, and in October that year, another four were killed.
