Egypt’s Ministry of Water and Resources announced today that it wishes to open a new page in Egyptian-Ethiopian relations based on good will and the intention of improving cooperation around mutually advantageous developmental projects.

A spokesperson for the ministry said Egypt, in line with accepted legal practice, has officially requested from the Ehtiopians all information related to the proposed "Millennium Dam" on the Blue Nile so that Egypt can study its effects on the nature of the Nile and downstream countries.

He added that Egypt’s final position on the dam will be determined by its affect on Egypt's water quota. The spokesperson went on to add that Egypt hopes Ethiopia will prove receptive to its initiative for building new relations based on transparency.

we have learnt new lessons
the new lessons we have just learnt is as you put somethings down on the table for legal negotiations, don't just fold your hand and wait for any resolutions from arguments; rather push your cause forward and put things on the ground- your bulldozers, scrappers and workforce to give a vindicating blow to the boulders and rocks and get to working your way to the final goal. Then your opponents leave the negotiating table and come down to work-field to say Hi and well-done. that is we are about to see in the Nile politics in the horn. Mele's the best student of this lesson. Praise the Lord.

Don't point finguers
Don't blame Egypt for your failures. The fact that you can't feed your people for the last six decades has noting to do with Egyptians or the Nile. What you need is not a dam on the Nile but a good government that can mobilize your people to boost the economy. I think your government is using the Nile dam as a means of diversion of the internal pressure so that it can rule an additional 20 years. Somehow it looks like it is working.

Nile
Ethiopia, since pheros eara till now passing to egypt what is her right to utilze, Nile. moreover, what upsets me most is that she never get egyptians thanks for it but disrespect. however, we ethiopians always see egypt as a friend because at least egyptians drunk from our (ethiopians and egyptians) water and we donot hate them for it we appriciate them for utilizing Nile. what we dont accept is when egypt donot appriciate our effort about Nile. go for mutual benefits always Ababa Ejigu

Ethiopia is to use some water?
You Guyes; A stable and developed Ethiopia is better for Egypt. If we are in trouble and suffer from poverty; We may take a desperate measure. let make things better and think in the right way. We need a concreat, visible and practical relationship than go round and round. Ethiopia is not to use some water but its own share.

Suggestion
I am Ethiopian. I am proud of it because I belong to humble people. Despite the fact that we are poor, we are the people who do not want others to be hurt. For sure we do not want our brothers, Egyptians, to die in hunger. We do not want to build our life on the expense of others. We believe in "SHARING IS HAPPINESS". But in the contrary, our brothers, Egyptians, do not understand this very simple philosophy we have for thousands of years. When we get hungry, they do not understand we are hungry on behalf of them. When we die because of poverty, they do not understand we could have saved significant number of our citizens had we had used our resource which they are using it extravagantly. Beside all this they invest on for disestablishing us. Why? There will be no winner in war on Nile river. Sophisticated weapons, highly trained solders, reliable financial source (if all there is) do not bring any change because we are always the source with 85% contribution. No one could change

Water Quota
Egypt's time is over, Ethiopia's time on now there is absolutely nothing Egypt can do to stop Ethiopia from using it's god given water resource. Egypt is gift of the Nile and Nile is gift of Ethiopia! By the way how much water does Egypt contrebute to the Nile Waters? Ethiopia contributes 85% of the total Nile water. Good luck!
