At least one policeman has been killed in an explosion Tuesday near a police station in Haram, Giza.
Diaa Fatouh, who was an explosives expert, was killed after attempting to dismantle a bomb near Talbeya police station in a densely-populated working class area.
Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported that police were notified of a suspect object at a petrol station near Talbeya police station. Fatouh then arrived to examine the object that blew up as he reportedly attempted to dismantle it.
He was transferred to a hospital where he died after succumbing to his injuries.
Officials are checking the site for other explosives.
Correction: In an earlier version, Ahram Online wrote that the officer's name was Hany Fatouh.
