A boy was killed and three other children injured when a landmine exploded in North Sinai on Thursday, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.
The explosion killed Yasser Hamed, 11, and injured three other children aged 12, 11 and eight, medical sources said.
The children were all transferred to Al-Arish General Hospital.
According to preliminary investigations the mines were set during the Israeli-Egyptian war.
Landmines are a major problem in the Western desert and the Sinai Peninsula due to wars in 20th century.
