Three bombs exploded in 6 October city on the oustkirts of Cairo on Friday morning as bomb attacks remain frequent across Egypt, Al-Ahram's Arabic news website reported
One explosion took place in front of a police station while two bombs went off at a separate location in the city's Hay Sabea district, sources told Al-Ahram. No injuries have been reported.
A suspicious item was also found in front of a police emergency unit in 6 October. Explosives experts are dismantling the device.
Security facilities and key infrastructure sites in Egypt are regular targets of bombings and attacks by local militant groups.
Civilians have also been killed in the violence, which escalated in 2013 after the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.
