Al-Azhar, Egypt's leading Islamic institution, issued a ruling on Monday prohibiting Muslims from watching a video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians by militants affiliated with the Islamic State group in Libya.

In a statement Al-Azhar also urged media not to publish the "crimes of the terrorists" in order not to fulfill the "sinister aim" of affecting the morale of the Muslims and giving a reason to spread Islamophobia and defame Islam worldwide .

Al-Azhar also prohibited the spread of the videos showing the execution of the hostages by the Islamist militant group.

On Sunday the Islamic State militant group released an extremely graphic video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians who were kidnpaped several weeks earlier while working in Libya, provoking official and public anger in Egypt.

the world stands with Egypt
Perhaps as a Jew my comment here is not welcome but I spent a lot of time in Egypt and can attest they are the most down to earth and civilized people you will find and they deserve the support of the entire world and not just the Arab world in confronting this death cult which falsely cals itself Islamic State but which is anything but that.

Ostrichsize them
If every Muslim pretends that ISIS isn't there, how will that stop the spread of Islamaphobia? Burying your collective heads in the sand will have the opposite effect. The exact opposite strategy is needed. First, instruct all Muslims to watch those ISIS killings and with those instructions, state unequivocally that these are acts of barbarism and are contrary Islam. Conclude with a Fatwa on both Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Prohibiting the viewing of Christians being beheaded
I think that its rather too late for that ! I have personally not seen the Beheadings or burnings or killing of children and others by radical Muslims because my sensibilities would not be able to stand it. As for "Islam phobia" Bit to late for that too. Perhaps if the Other Muslims had put a stop to this earlier we would not be physically sick I our souls now, but we are ... what to do ? "Get our armies ready and roll out the big guns ' What else can we do , sit back and throw our hands in the air ? The terrorists already consider us absolute idiots with no power of any kind, totally incapacitated , hobbled by the supreme Islamic warrior. So I guess were going to have to engage them ! better late than never.
