Ousted president Hosni Mubarak, detained in Salam Hospital in Sharm El-Sheikh pending corruption and criminal investigations, signed a waiver by which he relinquished all his assets and properties in Egypt to the country, according to Ahram Online sources in Sharm.

A governmental employee went to Mubarak's hospital Tuesday morning to issue the document. His wife, Suzanne Thabet, tested the waters by signing a similar waiver yesterday. After she submitted the waiver today, she was guaranteed release without bail in the trial by the Illicit Gains Authority.

The sources emphasised to Ahram Online that the ousted former president’s waivers were drafted in hopes of exchanging it for his release from custody. Due to ongoing investigations the 15-day stints in custody have been renewed several times thus far.

The 84-year-old year former president might not be as lucky as his wife, however, as he faces other charges, such as the murder of demonstrators during the first days of the revolution.
