Bomb kills 10-year-old pupil in Fayoum

Ahram Online , Wednesday 25 Mar 2015

In recent months militants have targeted civilian and commercial centres, attacks which were previously mostly against security forces

A 10-year-old school girl died on Wednesday after an explosive device detonated outside her school in Fayoum, a city south of Cairo, security director Younis Omar El-Gaher told Reuter’s Aswat Masriya.

El-Gaher explained that the girl was playing outside her school when the bomb exploded.

No more deaths or injuries were reported in front of the school.

Egypt has recently seen an increase of bombings in civilian areas in Cairo and other cities which seldom happened previously as militants focused on targeting police and army personnel and facilities.
