A roadside bomb detonated in North Sinai on Wednesday, injuring two security personnel, police sources told Reuters' Aswat Masriya.

The bomb went off as a security patrol passed by in the Safa area south of the city of Al-Arish.

Northern Sinai has seen increased attacks by Islamist militants targeting security forces since the 2013 overthrow of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi

An Islamic State affiliate in Egypt has recently vowed to kill judges in retaliation for the execution of six suspected militants earlier this month and the ongoing crackdown on Islamists.
