A policeman was killed and three others injured in two bomb attacks at dawn on Wednesday in the restive Sinai Peninsula, Al-Ahram Arabic reported.
Unknown assailants remotely detonated a roadside bomb targeting a passing armoured vehicle in the town of Al-Arish in North Sinai.
A police officer, Major Mohamed Salah, was killed and two recruits wounded in the explosion.
Another bomb went off earlier nearby, injuring another policeman.
The blasts caused cracks to nearby houses and led to a fire in an oil store, eyewitnesses said.
Northern Sinai has seen a spike in attacks by Islamist militants targeting security forces since the 2013 overthrow of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi amid massive protests against his yearlong rule.
