No heat wave in Egypt, high temperatures normal this time of year: Meteorological Authority

The Meteorological Authorities spokesman said that the current increase in temperatures the country has been experiencing is normal during late July and mid-August

Egypt is not going through a heat wave despite an increase in temperatures in the coming days, spokesman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authorities told Ahram Online.

Wahid Seoudi said that the current increase in temperatures the country has been experiencing is "normal during late July and mid-August."

Seoudi added that temperatures would start increasing in Cairo beginning on Thursday, and will remain high for at least one week.

Highs will range from between 37 to 39 degree Celsius (98.6 to 102.2 degree Fahrenheit).

This week highs in Cairo have ranged between 36 and 37 degree Celsius (96.8 to 98.6 degree Fahrenheit).
