The brothers of the Jordanian MP who were filmed assaulting an Egyptian worker in Jordan on 2 October have been arrested and are being investigated, state-owned news agency MENA reported on Monday.

A Jordanian security source has told MENA that the three brothers of Jordanian MP Ziad El-Shawabkah, who were filmed assaulting and beating Egyptian waiter Khaled El-Sayed in a restaurant in Aqaba, were arrested early Monday in the Jordanian city.

The source added that the three men were arrested, are currently being investigated, and will later be referred for trial.

CCTV videos of the assault went viral online, sparking outrage in both Egypt and Jordan.

The three men allegedly attacked and assaulted El-Sayed for a delay in their food order.
