The death toll of Egyptian in the trucks explosion in Jordan rose from three to five persons, Aswat Masriya reported on Tuesday

On Monday, two trucks carrying fireworks exploded in a custom storage area in Jordan's capital Amman.

Eight Egyptians were among the injured, according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry on Monday.

"The Egyptian consulate in Amman is closely following the scene and have visited all the injured in hospital," the statement read.

The Jordanian foreign minister extended his condolences to his Egyptian counterpart on Monday following the incident, the ministry said.

Two containers filled with fireworks exploded in a customs storage area in Jordan's capital of Amman on Monday, killing five people and wounding 10, several critically, a civil defence official told AP.

According to AP, a huge column of smoke rose into the sky and dust filled the air after what area resident Saleh Ibrahim described as a "really violent explosion."
