Ambassador Mohamed Hegazy, spokesman of the Egyptian Cabinet, has confirmed that Prime Minister Essam Sharaf is continuing a series of consultations with possible candidates for Cabinet positions in the upcoming reshuffle. Hegazy also announced that the anticipated reshuffle will be announced today, Thursday.
Sources have revealed that Sharaf, for the first time since taking office, conducted closed consultations in his residence yesterday pertaining the reshuffle, prior to the announcement.
Different political forces have varied in their stances on the reshuffle itself. Some have already undergone consultations with the prime minister to discuss possible candidates for the available portfolios. Other political entities refused the decision altogether, demanding an entirely new government with expanded jurisdiction.
