Egypt's foreign minister Sameh Shoukry expressed on Saturday his country's full condemnation of the "vile" terrorist attacks that took place in Paris late Friday, killing at least 128 people.

Shoukry extended condolences to his French counterpart Laurent Fabius during international talks on the Syrian conflict in Vienna, a foreign ministry statement said.

Shoukri added that Egypt supports "the government and people of France during these difficult times," and urged global unity and coordination to combat terrorism.

A state of emergency has been declared across France and borders shut down following the shootings and bombings, for which the ISIS militant group has claimed responsibility.
