Egyptian director Khaled Youssef secures Qalyubia seat in parliamentary elections

Egyptian director Khaled Youssef won a individual seat in Qalyubia governorate's Kafr Shukr constituency in the second stage of parliamentary elections, Ahram Arabic website reported late Monday.

Youssef won 29,716 votes, followed by candidate Araby Fouad who collected 12,810 votes.

Youssef secured over half the votes of the 56,110 individuals who cast their ballots. A total of 113,070 voters were registered in this constituency.

Kafr Shukr constituency is allocated one out of 25 seats for Qalyubia candidates running on an individual basis.

The electoral list "For the love of Egypt" won in the constituency, which is part of the Cairo, Middle and South Delta constituency for party-based lists.

Voting for the second stage of the elections took place for Egyptian residents Sunday and Monday, with run-offs due on December 1 and 2.
